Being a wedding and event planner in Alabama during fall means bringing on the cooler weather on occasions. (By occasions, I mean like two or three during the fall months *insert sad face*.) I love cooler weather, and I joyfully welcome and await this season. Fall means drinking all the pumpkin spice lattes I possibly can and breaking out my fall wardrobe! I have found these things true for any girl (Sorry, aren’t we all just a little basic inside?) Fall weddings and events mean playing with darker and richer color palettes and having hot chocolate and coffee bars at receptions. Honestly, it is just playing with Mother Nature’s natural beauty. With every season in the event and wedding industry, we see new trends that will be sure a thing! We have compiled a list of details that are sure to make your wedding fall-bulous! From velvet accents to over-the-top charcuterie boards, we believe these warm touches will be making their debut this fall season!
Vellum Paper Goods
You will for sure being seeing more and more of vellum paper being used, whether that is in invitation suites or reception paper goods like menus, signs, or seating chart displays. These vellum paper goods are designed by Alex Fly! They are simple, elegant, and memorable! Alex is phenomenal at all things paper design! We have linked Alex’s socials below so check out some of her other paper goods.

Velvet Touches
We are loving the look and added texture of velvet bridesmaid’s dresses! Or adding velvet touches anywhere in your wedding design! Velvet table runners or velvet furniture are also ways to add some texture to bring a pop to your wedding day!

Bringing the Inside Out
Some think this is a fad, but as a wedding and event planner in Alabama, we know this trend is here to stay! Guests will love and enjoy a living room set taken outside. This gives guests more space to flow and hang out at your wedding other than just the tables at the reception. Also, this provides a comfier space to lounge and take a break from the bumpin’ dance floor.
Minimalism & Effortlessness
Minimalism and effortlessness is for the bride who thinks less is more! This is about creating a space that is clean and neat but still having a simple wow factor about the design. Keep it simple with floral choice and design layout. We are loving this look and feel and will be definitely seeing more and more of this style this fall.
Statement Lighting
Statement lighting is a detail that not many brides consider, but as we are changing seasons, more and more brides are adding this as a must-have. Whether you add florals to your lighting, a colorful tapestry, or select a Boho-styled fixture, this trend that started in summer is moving with us into Fall.
Layering Texture
Layering texture is one of our favorite parts of the job. It is fun and challenging to us when we get the opportunity to play and layer different textures. Plus, the results are always so worth the brain power having a unique layering of texture for our clients to love!
Colorful Groom Attire
We are bored with the blacks, greys, whites, and navys! We want to see grooms in some color!! Colorful groom attire allows the bold brides, who know how to make any detail stand out, bring a pop to the ceremony. This is a trend that Martha Stewart herself endorses, so how could you not get in on it?
Charcuterie Boards
Charcuterie boards are always a fan favorite. Guests love to graze, and with a charcuterie board, they will always be coming back for more! Add one of these babies to any cocktail hour or station at your reception. They look great in pictures, you can make them personal to your own taste, and we are here for them through fall!
We want to hear from you! Let us know which of these trends you plan on adding to your next event! This is just a glimpse into our creative side. We would love to work with you and make it personal to your style. Visit our Contact page for more information on how we can serve as your wedding and event planner in Alabama!
